An 18-year-old man was killed in a Brooklyn park early Monday after fireworks exploded in his face.

Around 1:30 am, the 9800 block of Fallgold Parkway North received a report from a park.

According to a news statement from the Brooklyn Park Police Department, the 18-year-old

suffered serious injuries to his hand and face when he arrived. He said a friend was doing CPR.

Attempts were also made to save the man's life by members of the Brooklyn Park Fire Department and North Ambulance paramedics.

He was taken to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, where he was later pronounced dead.
